Elon Musk Subpoenaed in JPMorgan Epstein Lawsuit

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Inc., has been issued a subpoena by the U.S. Virgin Islands in its ongoing lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase & Co., accusing the bank of knowingly benefiting from Jeffrey Epstein’s sex-trafficking activities. The U.S. territory has stated in court documents that it believes Epstein may have referred or attempted to refer Musk to JPMorgan as a client, prompting the subpoena.

In addition to Musk, other prominent billionaires, including Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, have also been subpoenaed in connection with the case.

Musk’s attorney, Alex Spiro, did not respond to emails regarding the subpoena, but Musk himself addressed the issue on Twitter, calling the situation “idiotic” in response to a posted article.

The U.S. Virgin Islands has faced challenges in serving Musk with the subpoena. According to court filings, the territory made multiple efforts to locate Musk, including hiring private investigators, but was unsuccessful in finding a valid address. The territory also attempted to serve Musk at Tesla’s offices and has now asked the judge to allow the subpoena to be served through Tesla itself.

The subpoena seeks a range of documents, including any communications or meetings between Musk and JPMorgan, or between Musk and Epstein, regarding their accounts at the bank. It also requests documents related to Epstein’s alleged involvement in human trafficking and any fees Musk may have paid to Epstein or JPMorgan in connection with his accounts.

This development is part of the larger case, Government of the United States Virgin Islands v. JPMorgan Chase Bank, which seeks to hold the bank accountable for its role in facilitating Epstein’s criminal activities. The legal proceedings continue to unfold, with several high-profile individuals now under scrutiny
