NPCI Launches ‘UPI One World’ Wallet for International Visitors at India AI Impact Summit 2026

NPCI launches UPI One World wallet for international visitors at India AI Impact Summit 2026, enabling seamless cashless payments

Introduction

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has launched its UPI One World wallet service for international visitors attending the India AI Impact Summit 2026. This pilot program allows foreign travelers to make secure and real-time Person-to-Merchant (P2M) UPI payments without an Indian mobile number or bank account.

How the UPI One World Wallet Works

The UPI One World wallet is accessible through authorized PPI issuers at New Delhi International Airport and the NPCI Pavilion at Bharat Mandapam. Travelers can load the wallet using multiple payment methods. They complete transactions by scanning UPI QR codes via the PPI-UPI application. This approach eliminates the need to carry cash or deal with foreign exchange while visiting India.

Benefits for International Visitors

The service provides a cashless, seamless payment experience during the summit. Any unused balance can be returned to the original payment source, following foreign exchange rules. This initiative ensures convenience, security, and transparency for inbound travelers.

Global Participation at AI Impact Summit 2026

The India AI Impact Summit 2026, held from February 16 to 20 at the Bharat Mandapam complex in Delhi, attracts top tech leaders like Sundar Pichai and Sam Altman. Representatives from over 20 countries, including Brazil and France, are attending. Delegates from more than 100 countries are expected, making it one of the most significant global AI events recently.

Conclusion

The launch of the UPI One World wallet highlights NPCI’s commitment to promoting digital payments and simplifying transactions for international visitors. By offering a secure, fast, and user-friendly system, India is setting a global benchmark for cashless experiences at international events.
